Tori no Ichi is a fair held on the days of the rooster in November, when stalls around Otori Shrine in Asakusa sell kumade — decorated bamboo rakes to "rake in" good fortune for the coming year. Sellers and buyers seal a sale with rhythmic hand-clapping, and the fair runs for a full 24 hours, from midnight to midnight. In 2026 the rooster days are November 7 and November 19.

Otori Shrine in Asakusa describes itself as the origin of Tori no Ichi. Because the fair follows the Chinese zodiac calendar, its dates change every year, and some years have a third rooster day.
