Ranked among the world's top illuminations by CNN, Ashikaga Flower Park recreates its famous wisteria in light form alongside roses, water reflections and seasonal flower motifs across more than 5 million LEDs. The 2026–27 season, "Flower Fantasy", runs from October 17, 2026 to February 14, 2027.

Background

The park is renowned for a real wisteria tree over a century old that draws crowds each spring; its winter light show translates that same flower theme into an illumination that has run every year since the early 2010s and grown into one of the most-visited in the Kanto region.

Getting there

A 3-minute walk from Ashikaga Flower Park Station on the JR Ryomo Line, a request stop timed to the illumination and wisteria seasons.

Tips

• The 'Great Wisteria' recreated in lights over the pond is the park's signature shot, best seen from the bridge just past the entrance.
• The display is divided into themed chapters across the season (roses, a castle of light, flower fireworks), so the look changes noticeably if you visit more than once.
• Lights come on around 17:00. The park closes at 20:30 (21:00 on weekends and holidays), and from November 1 to January 4 it stays open later, to 21:00 on weekdays and 21:30 on weekends and holidays.
