Tokyo Midtown's Midtown Garden is filled with light each winter. The 2026 theme, "Midwinter Night's Dream", centres on MIDWINTER LIGHTS, a main display in the garden with soap-bubble effects until December 20, plus a new MIDWINTER LOUNGE where you can have champagne and light snacks surrounded by the lights, a Christmas tree of a real fir about 8.5 metres tall, and a gold-lit walkway of about 340,000 bulbs.

Tokyo Midtown has run a winter illumination every year since the complex opened in 2007, with the specific theme and color palette changing annually.

Directly connected to Roppongi Station (Toei Oedo Line / Tokyo Metro Hibiya Line) via an underground passage.

Tips

• MIDWINTER LIGHTS runs from November 26 to December 25, 17:00–23:00, and is free. The soap-bubble effect is on only until December 20 (once every four minutes), so go before then if you want it.
• The gold-lit "Path of Light" walkway of about 340,000 bulbs lasts the whole winter, until February 23, 2027 (17:00–23:00, with a lighting show every hour on the hour and half hour). The main MIDWINTER LIGHTS display ends on December 25, so in January and February only the walkway is lit.
• New in 2026: the MIDWINTER LOUNGE, a lounge for champagne and light food among the lights, with a deck about 1.5 metres high that overlooks the main display. It is a paid space, unlike the free display.
• The Ralph Lauren Midtown Ice Rink opens on December 5 and runs to February 23, 2027.
• A connecting light path toward Roppongi Hills ('Keyakizaka-dori') is a separate, free display a short walk away — the two are easy to combine into one evening.
