Tokyo Christmas Market is a German-style Christmas market, with wooden huts imported from Germany, Glühwein in collectable mugs and a roughly 14 m Christmas pyramid from the woodcraft village of Seiffen. In 2026 its traditional venue is Shiba Park by Onarimon Station, with Tokyo Tower rising directly behind the pyramid.

Background

The market was first held in December 2015 in Hibiya Park and has since moved between Hibiya Park, Meiji Jingu Gaien and Shiba Park. It is backed by the German National Tourist Office, the Bavarian and Saxon tourism representatives, the village of Seiffen and the Tokyo Metropolitan Government. As in 2025, it runs at two venues in 2026: Shiba Park (Dec 4–25) and a new waterfront site at Shin-Toyosu (Nov 20–Dec 25), which replaces Meiji Jingu Gaien.

Getting there

1 min walk from Onarimon Station (Toei Mita Line, Exit A6); 10 min from Kamiyacho Station (Hibiya Line, Exit 3); 10 min from Daimon Station (Toei Oedo Line, Exit A6); 10 min from JR Hamamatsucho Station (North Exit). No parking or bicycle parking.

Tips

• Entry is paid and sold in 30-minute time slots: ¥1,000 on weekdays, ¥1,500 on weekends and holidays, and ¥2,000 on December 24–25. Preschool children are free.
• Same-day entry can be restricted when it gets crowded, so the organizer recommends booking ahead — advance tickets also come with a mug.
• Opening day (December 4) starts at 4:00 PM; every other day runs 11:00 AM–10:00 PM, with last entry at 9:00 PM.
• Drinks are served in mugs with a deposit. Keep the mug as a souvenir, or return it at the stall to get the deposit back.
• The Shin-Toyosu venue opens two weeks earlier (from November 20) if your trip ends before December.
