Disney Halloween is the autumn special event at both Tokyo Disney Resort parks. In 2026 it runs from September 16 to October 31. Tokyo Disneyland's Halloween is led by the Disney Villains, with a daily parade, The Villains Halloween "Into the Frenzy", while Tokyo DisneySea decorates Mediterranean Harbor and American Waterfront and brings Mickey and friends in by boat for a Halloween greeting. Both parks have a short Halloween fireworks show each night, and on set dates guests can visit in full Disney character costume.
Background
Disney Halloween is an annual autumn event at both parks. In 2026 it ends on October 31, and Disney Christmas follows from November 11. Full-costume visits are a big part of it, and the resort publishes detailed costume rules and the allowed dates on a dedicated page. The Villains are again the stars of the Tokyo Disneyland edition in 2026.
Getting there
Maihama Station on the JR Keiyo Line is about 15 minutes from Tokyo Station by rapid train. Tokyo Disneyland's entrance is a short walk from the station. For Tokyo DisneySea, take the Disney Resort Line monorail (a separate fare) from Resort Gateway Station, next to Maihama Station, to Tokyo DisneySea Station.
Tips
- Full character costumes are only allowed on set dates. In 2026 these are September 15–30 and October 16–31; costumes are not allowed from October 1 to 15. Outside those dates you can still wear a character's colours or style, but not a dress, wig or costume that recreates a specific character.
- Costumes must be Disney characters from the parks, Disney Hotels or park entertainment, or from films on the resort's list of eligible titles. Very revealing outfits, costumes or props that are too long or wide, and anything that hides your face are not allowed, and cast members check costumes at the entrance.
- There is nowhere to change inside the parks, and you may not change in restrooms or lockers. Come dressed from your hotel, or book the paid changing space at Ikspiari next to Maihama Station (open 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM on the full-costume dates, reservation by date and time).
- Tokyo Disneyland's Halloween parade, The Villains Halloween "Into the Frenzy", runs once a day for about 45 minutes; a designated viewing area is sold through paid Disney Premier Access. Tokyo DisneySea's Disney Halloween Greeting on Mediterranean Harbor runs twice a day for about 15 minutes. Both parks have Night High Halloween, about 5 minutes of fireworks once each night.
- Park tickets are date- and park-specific and sold online only up to two months ahead, from 2:00 PM Japan time each day. Popular dates can sell out, so buy as soon as your dates are fixed.
- Haunted Mansion "Holiday Nightmare", themed on The Nightmare Before Christmas, runs at Tokyo Disneyland well beyond Halloween (September 15, 2026 to January 7, 2027). At Tokyo DisneySea, Lost River Delta has a separate Coco-themed event, Lazos de la Familia (September 16 to November 2, 2026).
