Tokyo Game Show (TGS) is one of the world's biggest video game expos: playable demos of upcoming games from Japanese and international publishers, an indie game area, stage shows, cosplay and a family game park, across all eleven halls of Makuhari Messe. The 2026 show ran September 17–21 — its longest ever, with two business days followed by public days on September 19–21.
Background
TGS began in 1996 and the 2026 edition was its 30th anniversary, drawing 257,642 visitors over four days. The final public day, September 21, was affected by Typhoon No. 25 and tickets for that day are being refunded.
