Sendai Christmas Market fills Nishikicho Park with about 40 wooden huts brought from Germany, around one of the largest Christmas trees in the Tohoku region. It runs during the city's SENDAI Pageant of Starlight illumination on Jozenji-dori.
Background
The market used to be held in Kotodai Park's Civic Plaza (2022) and later moved to Nishikicho Park. In 2025 it ran jointly with the SENDAI Pageant of Starlight, with extra stalls at Kotodai Park. The mug design changes every year.
Getting there
About 10 min walk from JR Sendai Station (West Exit); about 5 min from Kotodai-koen Station (Namboku Line, Park Exit 1) or Hirose-dori Station (Namboku Line, East Exit 2); 1 min from 'Nishikicho-koen-mae' stop on the Machinori Chocotto loop bus.

Tips
- Entry is free except on eight designated busy days (December 11–13, 18–20, 24 and 25 in 2026), when a ticket is required. In 2025 that ticket cost ¥1,500 including a mug, with 2-hour entry slots. 2026 prices had not been announced.
- Hours: weekdays 4:00–10:00 PM, Saturdays noon–10:00 PM, Sundays noon–9:00 PM.
- Walk on to Jozenji-dori after dark for the SENDAI Pageant of Starlight illumination.
