The Tokyo International Film Festival (TIFF) is Japan's biggest film festival, screening competition titles, Japanese and Asian premieres and anime across cinemas in central Tokyo for ten days each autumn. The 39th edition runs October 26 – November 4, 2026 in the Hibiya, Yurakucho, Marunouchi and Ginza area. It opens with "Sukiyaki", closes with "Colony" and has "Godzilla Minus Zero" as its centerpiece.
Background
TIFF began in 1985 and has been based in the Hibiya–Yurakucho–Ginza cinema district in recent years. The 2026 festival adds a Mizoguchi Kenji retrospective and an animation symposium, with Rolf de Heer as jury president.

The screening venues are within walking distance of Hibiya and Yurakucho stations (Tokyo Metro Hibiya/Chiyoda/Yurakucho lines, Toei Mita Line and JR Yamanote Line) and Ginza Station.
